Eleven Countries met for the “South East Asia (SEA) Sub-Regional Conference on the Human Rights and Dignity of Girl Children”, at Phnom Penh Cambodia on May 11 and 12, 2015. In partnership with the Local Social Welfare Department (LSWD) of Caloocan City, LSWD of Malabon, and Public Attorneys’ Office in Malabon and Navotas, Children’s Legal Rights and Development Center (CLRDC) Inc. recently conducted information dissemination to staff /personnel of holding centers for Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) to the three holding centers for CICL that CLRDC regularly visit and monitor – – Yakap Bata Holding Center in Caloocan City, Bahay Sandigan in Malabon, and Navotas Holding Center for CICL.
CLRDC had been actively involved in the lobbying of the then Juvenile Justice Law and Welfare Act of 2006 until its amendment in 2013, as well as in the drafting of the IRR of RA 10630 with its network organizations (CLAN, JJ Network and PAYO).
On October 11, 2013, the Children’s Legal Rights and Development Center (CLRDC) marked the celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child simultaneous with the celebration of the other neighboring Asian countries dubbed as “Asian Girl Campaign 2013”. As CLRDC celebrates the significance of the said day, it vowed to renew its commitment to promote and protect the human rights of the girl child and affirm its devotion in building a better society for all children.
